Loopyty Terms

Last updated: October 2026

Quick note from us

We've tried to keep this short and human. Each section starts with a plain-language summary so children and parents can both follow along. The full text underneath is what you legally agree to.

If anything is unclear, write to us at support@loopyty.com. We have a separate Privacy Policy that explains how we handle your data — please read that too.

1. Welcome to Loopyty

Loopyty is a Norwegian online marketplace where families buy and sell pre-loved toys. We make the platform; you make the trades.

Loopyty is run by Loopyty AS (org. no. 933 519 708), a Norwegian company. When we say “we,” “us,” or “Loopyty,” that's us. When we say “you,” that's you — the person using the platform.

By creating an account or using Loopyty, you accept these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the platform.

We are a marketplace. That means we connect buyers and sellers, but the actual sale is between them. We don't own the toys, and we're not a party to the sale itself. (More on what that means in section 4.)

2. Who can use Loopyty

The account belongs to a parent or guardian — the account holder. With a toy store subscription, children get their own login and run their own toy stores, and the account holder is responsible.

To open and run a Loopyty account, you must be 18 or older and able to enter into a binding agreement. That account is the main account — in the app it is called Homebase — and you are the account holder. Children use Loopyty through sub-accounts under it.

The account holder is responsible for:

  • everything that happens on the account, including what children do with their own login,
  • making sure listings, photos, reviews and store names are appropriate,
  • handling payments and payouts — money always goes to the account holder's own Stripe account, never to a child,
  • supervising the children using Loopyty.

Children's sub-accounts. With a toy store subscription, the account holder can give each child a sub-account with their own login: an avatar they design and a PIN that the account holder sets. With it, a child can open and decorate stores, list their own toys, keep a wish list and set savings goals. A child cannot pay for anything. Parcels are always collected from the account holder's address, and Helthjem texts the account holder's phone.

A child's name is shown by first name only, everywhere. After several wrong PIN attempts the login is locked for a while, and the account holder can always change a child's PIN.

We may ask for proof of age or identity if we have reason to believe an account is being used by a minor without supervision.

3. Your account

Keep your login safe. Tell us the truth about who you are. You're responsible for what happens on your account.

When you sign up, you agree to give us accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it up to date.

You're responsible for:

  • keeping your password safe and not sharing your account,
  • everything that happens under your account,
  • letting us know straight away (support@loopyty.com) if you think someone else is using it.

We won't be liable for losses caused by someone using your account without permission, but you may be liable for losses we (or others) suffer because of unauthorised use. Don't use anyone else's account.

4. Buying and selling

Loopyty is the marketplace. The deal is between buyer and seller. You're trading as a private person, not a business — and that affects your rights.

Our role. We provide the platform, search, listings, and payment through Stripe. Shipping is with our partner Helthjem: the buyer chooses the parcel size (Medium or Large) at checkout and pays the shipping, and the parcel is booked and collected from the seller. Once Helthjem has the parcel, they are responsible for delivery and their terms apply. Loopyty does not include shipping insurance, and the shipping price does not cover loss or damage in transit. We're not the seller, the buyer, the shipping company, or a party to the sale.

Giving away and choosing a price. A seller can give a toy away. The toy is free of charge, and the person who adopts it pays only the shipping — or nothing, if you meet in person (section 5c). A seller can also let the buyer choose the price between a lowest and a highest amount they set. The buyer pays what they choose, plus the service fee.

Private sellers, not businesses. Loopyty is for private individuals selling pre-loved toys from their own home. If you're a business or sell so often that you look like one, you must contact us first — separate rules apply.

What this means for buyers. When you buy from a private seller in Norway, the Norwegian Sale of Goods Act (Kjøpsloven) applies — not the Consumer Purchase Act (Forbrukerkjøpsloven). In short:

  • you do not have a 14-day right of withdrawal (angrerett),
  • the complaint period is shorter than when you buy from a business,
  • you have fewer rights than when buying from a business.

The 14-day right of withdrawal in section 5b is only for the toy store subscription you buy from Loopyty. It does not apply to toys.

We strongly recommend reading the listing carefully.

Seller responsibilities. If you sell on Loopyty, you must:

  • describe the toy honestly, including any flaws,
  • use real photos of the actual toy,
  • set a fair, clear price,
  • only list toys you own and have the right to sell,
  • have the toy packed and ready for Helthjem to collect soon after the sale, or meet the buyer at the time you agreed,
  • pay your own taxes on what you earn.

What you cannot list. No counterfeit toys. No toys recalled for safety reasons. No toys with broken safety features, missing required parts, small parts that have come loose on a toy meant for under-3s, or anything that doesn't meet basic toy safety standards. No weapons, replicas of weapons, or anything illegal. No items that aren't toys.

Photos with children in them. Please don't upload photos that show identifiable children's faces. A child's hand holding the toy is fine — a clear face shot is not.

5. Payments, fees, and payouts

Free to join. The buyer pays a service fee on top of the price. Stripe handles the money.

It's free to register, browse and list. Sellers keep their full price.

Service fee. Loopyty adds a service fee on top of the seller's price, which the buyer pays: 13 % of the price, and at least 20 kr. A toy given away carries no fee. The fee covers payment processing, platform costs and operations. We can change it with at least 30 days' notice by email; if you disagree, you can close your account before the change takes effect.

Stripe. All payments go through Stripe. To receive payouts, you'll need to accept the Stripe Connected Account Agreement and the Stripe Terms of Service. You agree to give Loopyty and Stripe accurate information about you so they can verify your identity. You authorise us to share transaction information with Stripe.

Payout timing. Your first payout usually arrives 7–10 days after your first successful sale. After that, payouts follow a 3-day rolling window or your account's payout schedule. Stripe may hold or delay a payout if there are concerns about fraud, chargebacks, or verification.

Taxes. You are responsible for any taxes on what you earn. Under EU rules (DAC7), Loopyty may be required to share information about your sales with tax authorities if you exceed certain thresholds (currently 30 sales or €2,000 in a calendar year).

5a. Toy store subscription

A yearly subscription gives children their own toy stores. It renews each year until you cancel, and you can cancel any time in Settings.

What you get. A toy store subscription lets the account holder's children have their own login and their own stores. Each store — your own, or a shared one a child takes part in — uses one deed. The subscription has three sizes:

Deeds
Price per year, VAT included
5
249 kr
8
349 kr
12
449 kr

A shared store uses a deed from every family taking part.

Paying. The subscription is paid in advance for a year, by card (including Apple Pay and Google Pay), through Stripe. You get a receipt by email.

Renewal. It renews automatically each year at the price of your size. We send you an email 7 days before it renews.

More deeds. You can move up at any time: you pay the difference between the two yearly prices that day, and the new price from your next renewal. You cannot move down during a year.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time under Abonnement in Settings. The subscription then runs to the end of the year you have paid for, and does not renew. When it ends, the stores close and the toys in them are paused. Nothing is deleted: subscribe again and everything comes back as it was.

Price changes. If we change the price, we tell you by email at least 30 days before your next renewal. The new price applies from that renewal. If you do not want it, cancel before then.

If a payment fails. Stripe tries again over the following days, and the stores stay open while it does. If the payment still fails, the subscription ends as if cancelled.

5b. Right of withdrawal (angrerett) — the toy store subscription only

Only for the toy store subscription: changed your mind? You have 14 days to cancel it and get back the money for the days you have not used. Toys bought from other users are not covered.

This right of withdrawal is only for the toy store subscription, which you buy from Loopyty AS. It does not apply to toys you buy from other users on Loopyty — those are private sales between you and the seller, with no right of withdrawal (section 4).

You have a 14-day right of withdrawal (angrerett) from the day you buy the toy store subscription, and from the day you buy more deeds for it. To use it, cancel under Abonnement in Settings within the 14 days, or write to support@loopyty.com. We refund the days left of what you paid for — you pay for the days you have used. The money goes back to the card you paid with, no later than 14 days after we hear from you. It usually takes 5–10 working days to show on your account.

If you withdraw from the subscription itself, the stores close and the toys are paused, as when a subscription ends. If you withdraw from buying more deeds, you go back to the size you had.

The right of withdrawal applies to the first purchase and to buying more deeds — not to the yearly renewal of a subscription you already have. You can still cancel before a renewal, as in section 5a.

5c. Groups and meeting in person

Account holders can make small groups of people they know. People in the same group can meet to hand a toy over instead of posting it.

Groups. The account holder can create a group and invite people with a link. A group is for account holders who know each other — a class, a team, neighbours, friends — and we encourage small groups. Members see each other's first names and the toys the group's families list. Children are not members of groups, but their toys are shown there.

Meeting in person. When the buyer and the seller are in the same group, the buyer can choose to meet instead of using Helthjem. There is no shipping. The buyer proposes times and a place within 48 hours, and the handover must happen within 6 days of the purchase. The buyer's card is charged only when the seller — or the child whose toy it is — types in the buyer's handover code at the meeting. If you do not agree a time, or the handover does not happen in time, the purchase is cancelled and the money released.

The account holder agrees the time and place. The handover itself a child may well do, with the account holder knowing where and when. Meet somewhere you both feel safe. Loopyty arranges the time and the code; the meeting itself is between you.

6. The "Be Kind" policy (reviews)

Be fair, be honest — but never mean. Reviews help the community trust each other.

Our Be Kind policy for reviews:

  • Honesty is good. Tell the truth about your experience — the toy, the seller, the shipping.
  • Fair is good. If something went wrong, say so calmly. Stick to what actually happened.
  • Mean is not okay. No insults, no name-calling, no personal attacks, no language a parent wouldn't want their child to read.
  • No personal information. Don't share other users' addresses, phone numbers, or anything that could identify a child.

We may edit or remove reviews that break the Be Kind policy. Repeat breakers can lose access to leaving reviews — or to the platform.

7. Your content

What you upload stays yours. You give us permission to show it on Loopyty.

When you post a listing, photo, review, or anything else (“Your Content”), you keep ownership. You give Loopyty a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, adapt, and share Your Content as needed to run the platform — including in marketing of Loopyty itself. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except where we need to keep something for legal reasons or back-ups.

You promise that:

  • you have the right to upload what you upload,
  • it doesn't break anyone else's rights,
  • it follows these Terms and the law,
  • it's truthful (especially for listings).

We can remove Your Content if we believe it breaks these Terms.

8. Our content

Our logo, design, code, and graphics belong to us. Don't copy them.

The Loopyty platform — including the look and feel, logo, text, design, code, and graphics we create — is owned by Loopyty AS or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You can use it normally as part of using the platform, but please don't copy, resell, or repackage it.

9. What we don't allow

Be honest. Be safe. Don't break the law. Don't break the platform.

You agree not to:

  • post anything illegal, threatening, harassing, hateful, or sexual,
  • pretend to be someone you're not,
  • list unsafe, recalled, counterfeit, or non-toy items (see section 4),
  • upload photos that identify other people's children,
  • spam, advertise unrelated products, or send unsolicited messages,
  • interfere with the platform — no hacking, scraping, security testing, or trying to break authentication,
  • circumvent our fees by moving sales off-platform,
  • create multiple accounts to manipulate reviews, prices, or rankings,
  • use Loopyty to facilitate gambling, raffles, or contests.

Breaking these rules can lead to listings being removed, your account being limited, or your account being closed.

10. Reporting, moderation, and appeals

See something wrong? Tell us. We'll explain why we act.

We use a mix of automated checks and human review to keep Loopyty safe.

To report a listing, review, or user: use the report button on the item, or email support@loopyty.com. We aim to respond within a reasonable time.

If we take action against you, we'll tell you what we did and why, in line with the EU Digital Services Act.

To appeal a decision: reply to our message or write to support@loopyty.com within 30 days. A different team member will review the appeal.

Out-of-court dispute resolution. If we can't resolve things, EU consumers can use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform. Norwegian consumers can also contact the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet) or the Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet).

11. Links to other sites

If we link out, we're not vouching for what's on the other side.

Loopyty may contain links to third-party websites or services (for example, Stripe). We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content, products, or what they do with your information. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you visit them.

12. Closing your account

You can leave any time. We can close accounts that break the rules.

You can close your account whenever you want, from your account settings or by emailing support@loopyty.com.

We can suspend or close an account if:

  • you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms,
  • there's fraud, illegal activity, or a safety concern,
  • we're required to by law.

When an account closes, listings come down. Open transactions are completed where possible. We delete or anonymise data in line with our Privacy Policy, except where law or legitimate business needs require us to keep something longer.

13. Our liability

If something goes wrong because of us, we'll fix what we can. Some things are simply not on us.

The platform is provided “as is.” We work hard to keep it running and improving, but we can't promise it will always be perfect or available.

For consumers. Nothing in these Terms limits your rights under Norwegian or EU consumer law. If we cause you a loss because of our gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for personal injury, our full liability under law applies.

For other losses. Where the law allows us to limit liability, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the higher of (a) the fees you paid Loopyty in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) 500 kr. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or lost data.

Things that aren't our fault. We're not responsible for problems with the actual sale between buyer and seller — wrong description, late shipping, items not as expected, or loss or damage in transit — except where law says otherwise. Disputes about the toy itself are between you and the other user.

Force majeure. We're not liable for delays or failures caused by things outside our reasonable control: natural disasters, war, pandemics, cyber-attacks, power or internet outages, or third-party service failures.

14. Changes to these Terms

If we change something important, we'll tell you. You can leave if you don't agree.

We can update these Terms. If we make a meaningful change, we'll let you know by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you don't agree with the change, you can close your account before it kicks in. If you keep using Loopyty after the change takes effect, you accept the new Terms.

15. Law and where disputes are heard

Norwegian law applies. Courts in Norway, but consumers keep their home rights.

These Terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes will be decided by Norwegian courts, with Oslo City Court (Oslo tingrett) as the venue.

If you are a consumer living in another EU/EEA country, you keep the right to bring a case in the courts of your home country, and the consumer protection laws of your home country also apply where they give you stronger rights.
